I started skimming block sanding the low spots in the body. Looks like I'm going to be busy for a couple weeks. It's as if someone used my T-top bar as a picnic table.

Hail or gravel? Or just using it as a shelf when it's parked in the garage? Are you buying Bondo by the quart or the gallon?

I want to assume someone back in the '80s used it in some terrible music video... I'm using this stuff called Evercoat Gold for the skim coats and I've got a quart. I've also got a quart of bondo that I've been using on some spots. If you need a gallon of bondo for one car you have a problem.

I'm preparing to do some similar work on the side of a Land-Rover, but I have one of these to use:
An air file/sander. In the words of Nelson Muntz, "Ha ha".

You bastard! It's alright, my trans am doesn't have nearly the amount of flat panel space as a Land-Rover has.

I blame her. She shouldn't have kept throwing her clothing out the t-tops.

At least you didn't find any trunk dents.....
YET.

So true. We actually used multiple quarts of bondo before deciding to back up and spend some more time (read, lots) getting the m@#%@&ing aluminum straighterer and ground most of it back out again. At the end of the day, we'll have maybe used a quart and a half. In fairness, a lot of that was bondo being put on and taken right back off again, as there were intricacies of filling the low spots my cousin didn't quite get.
Also, it is obligatory to point out that completely flat panels are easier to know if you've gotten right, and require no finesse with flat surface-working bondo tools. Advantage: still me.

Yea, I'm guessing something along those lines too.
